Lokal is a macOS app that starts, stops and watches the development servers you run every day. No more hunting through Terminal tabs to find which one died.
Add each project once with its folder, command and environment variables. Group them by product, start a whole group together, and see at a glance which ones are running, idle or crashed.
Each run's output is saved, so you can read what a server printed before it died, even after you've restarted it or relaunched Lokal. A combined console shows a group's output in one stream.
A macOS notification tells you when a process exits with an error. Lokal also understands watchers like nodemon, flagging a crash the moment it's reported and clearing it when the watcher restarts.
Commands run with the PATH from your login shell, so nvm, pyenv and friends resolve like they do in Terminal. If an old process still holds a port, Force Start frees it before launching.
Mark projects to start automatically when Lokal opens, or start and stop everything with one shortcut. Quitting Lokal shuts down every server it started, so nothing lingers.
Your projects sync through iCloud, while logs stay on the Mac that produced them. Export a project as JSON to share a setup with a teammate, or import theirs.
Pick the folder and type the command you'd run in Terminal, like npm run dev or php artisan serve.
The project turns green and its output streams into the console. Use ⌘R to start everything at once.
Lokal watches the processes. Stop, restart or read past logs whenever you need them.
Lokal has no accounts, no analytics and no server of its own. The only things it ever sends anywhere are your project names, folders and commands, to your own iCloud account so your other Macs see the same list. Logs never leave the machine that produced them.
